Wanbangde Pharmaceutical Group Holds Senior-Level Meeting to Set the Overall Work Direction for 2017

The senior leadership meeting of Wanbangde Pharmaceutical Group was held on December 24–25 at the picturesque Yandang Mountain. The meeting adhered to the guiding principles of maintaining stability in the overall strategy, setting precise goals, fostering flexible enterprise management, implementing practical work measures, and ensuring unified thinking and understanding across the organization. Key discussions centered on summarizing and analyzing the progress made by each department in their primary tasks and goal achievements during 2016, while also conducting a comprehensive and detailed review of the 2017 objectives and plans. Additionally, the meeting featured targeted planning for each department’s priorities in the coming year. The session was chaired by Vice President of Administration Chen Yan, with an important keynote speech delivered by Chairman Zhao Shouming. Senior leaders from all company departments attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Chairman Zhao Shouming pointed out that Wanbangde Pharmaceutical Group is on the cusp of 2017—a pivotal year marked by accelerated industrial restructuring, optimization, and integration. He emphasized the need to identify our development gaps, break through bottlenecks hindering the company’s growth, and take decisive action from key areas to drive forward comprehensive reforms and expansion. Mr. Zhao noted that while 2016 was a period of corporate adjustment, the company’s overall performance remained positive, with significant improvements in operational management and business efficiency. Notably, major progress was made in reshaping the company’s industrial structure, and the year’s primary goals and objectives were largely achieved. He highlighted that this year, building on the existing management framework, the company has boldly embraced innovation, leading to substantial advancements—particularly in strengthening its R&D team, achieving breakthroughs in the research of its flagship product, Huperzine A, successfully advancing the secondary development of Ginkgo Biloba Dropping Pills, enhancing the distribution and marketing systems, refining the production cost accounting framework, deepening corporate culture initiatives, and making steady strides in digital transformation efforts.
He stated that while acknowledging the achievements made in 2016, it’s crucial to remain fully aware that the company still faces numerous challenges in its development. Since the beginning of this year, business segments across the enterprise have shown a steadily upward trajectory. However, the development of our talent pipeline has failed to keep pace with the company’s growth needs, leading to gaps and disruptions among mid-level managers—issues that are now holding back our progress. Moreover, as the business continues to expand rapidly, effective communication and collaboration across departments have been lacking, resulting in delays and inefficiencies in operations. As a result, the team’s overall execution capabilities and strategic mindset urgently require improvement, and a robust communication and collaboration framework remains to be established. At the same time, instances of raw material waste continue to occur from time to time, underscoring the pressing need to enhance cost awareness and strengthen budgeting and control practices. To address this, we must further refine our cost-monitoring and management systems, ensuring more effective cost reduction measures are implemented. Lastly, some of our products still struggle with relatively low market share. To overcome this, we need to swiftly innovate our marketing strategies, bolster our distribution networks, and explore new channels for product sales—actions that will not only help us capture greater market opportunities but also propel the company to new heights of success.
At the conclusion of the meeting, it was emphasized that in 2017, the company must firmly focus on its core business strategies: optimizing structure, maintaining quality, strengthening foundational operations, cultivating talent, enhancing management practices, and boosting brand development. Participants were encouraged to further align their perspectives, improve communication and collaboration across departments, unite as one team, stay committed to practical action, and ensure continuous capacity expansion and sustained growth in profitability—working tirelessly together to build a bright future for Wanbangde Pharmaceutical Group.
