Through a comprehensive comparison of multiple indicators, the institute identified the Top 500 Zhejiang High-Tech Enterprises in terms of innovation capability for 2022. Overall Characteristics of the Top 500 High-Tech Enterprises

The Fortune 500 companies continue to expand their operational scale, with combined revenues reaching 1.81993 trillion yuan in 2021. At the same time, their technological strengths keep growing, boasting 124,750 valid patents at the end of the period. Meanwhile, their profitability advantages have become even more pronounced, contributing a total profit and tax of 424.05 billion yuan.

The top 500 high-tech enterprises collectively invested 135.47 billion yuan in R&D, with R&D spending accounting for 7.5% of their total revenue—1.5 percentage points higher than the average for high-tech firms and roughly three times the level seen among industrial enterprises above a certain size (2.6%).

The Fortune 500 companies collectively have 185,401 R&D personnel, with R&D staff accounting for 27.5% of their total workforce—5.9 percentage points higher than the average for Fortune 500 firms.

The Top 500 High-Tech Enterprises held a total of 124,750 valid patents at the end of the period, including 38,993 invention patents. On average, each 10,000 employees in these top 500 companies possessed 579 invention patents.
