The company's flagship product, acetylcholinesterase inhibitor [Huperzine A], has received FDA Orphan Drug Designation for the treatment of myasthenia gravis.
An orphan drug, also known as a rare disease medicine, refers to a pharmaceutical product used for the prevention, treatment, or diagnosis of rare diseases. The Orphan Drug Designation was established by the FDA to encourage the development of therapies for rare conditions, offering a range of incentives to support new drug development. As such, obtaining this designation is critically important for advancing innovative drug research and innovation.
