On May 27, 2024, the postdoctoral research workstation of Wanbangde Pharmaceutical Group successfully held its postdoctoral exit and mid-term evaluation meeting. The event was conducted in a hybrid "online + offline" format, with Lin Hong, Deputy General Manager of the company, serving as the chairperson of the evaluation panel. Members of the panel included Xiang Shengchang (PhD supervisor from Fujian Normal University), Fu Ying and Xu Jing (both PhD supervisors from Northeast Agricultural University), as well as Zhao Guanjia (Director of the R&D Center), Jiang Dong (Deputy General Manager), Fang Shuixia (Deputy Director of the R&D Center), Tang Bo (Deputy General Manager of the API Division), Lin Jinxin (Deputy Director of the QC Department/Analysis Center), Xu Xiaoqiang (Director of the Human Resources Department), Jiang Xinyu (General Manager of Hunan Huabaotong Pharmaceutical), and Liu Pengcheng (Deputy General Manager of Jiangsu Bescon Pharmaceutical)—all key figures from within the company.
At the meeting, Dr. Wang Jian first delivered a station report on his research topic and his work accomplishments during his time at the station. Since joining in May 2022, Dr. Wang has leveraged his profound theoretical knowledge in organic chemistry and extensive experience in organic synthesis to meticulously explore and optimize the synthetic route for compound 503, ultimately succeeding in establishing a viable synthesis pathway. During his stay, his groundbreaking research titled "Green Oxidative Cyclization Synthesis of 505" culminated in a significant breakthrough, leading to the publication of his findings as the first and corresponding author in the international journal *Tetrahedron Letters*.
After deliberation by the evaluation panel, Dr. Wang Jian has closely aligned his research with industry needs during his stay, maintained a rigorous scientific approach, and achieved significant results that meet the criteria for completing his post-doctoral program. Therefore, the panel unanimously approved his successful completion of the assessment.

Dr. Zhu Chifan, a postdoctoral researcher at the station, delivered an interim report. Over the past year, Dr. Zhu has primarily focused on refining the NF synthesis method. Following the new approach outlined in her initial research proposal, she combined extensive literature reviews with meticulous screening and optimization of experimental conditions. As a result, the project has now successfully established a preliminary pathway for the process.
After deliberation by the evaluation panel, it was unanimously decided that this research project meets the requirements for the joint postdoctoral training program and has successfully passed the mid-term assessment.

Dr. Zhang Junqi, a postdoctoral researcher at the station, delivered an interim report highlighting that the project has conducted solid and effective research aimed at improving the synthesis method based on AXS. So far, significant progress has been made in each step, laying a strong foundation for the next phase of the study. The research aligns well with the previously established plan, progresses at a steady pace, and employs appropriate methodologies.
After deliberation by the evaluation panel, it was unanimously decided that this research project meets the requirements for the joint postdoctoral training program and has successfully passed the mid-term assessment.

Dr. Liu Congmin, a postdoctoral researcher at the station, delivered an interim report. Dr. Liu’s research focuses on detecting residual pollutants. Currently, she has developed analytical methods specifically for heavy metals and certain prohibited pesticide residues. Moving forward, she plans to further refine and validate these methodologies, while also working on establishing detection techniques for other banned pesticides and mycotoxins. This research is highly significant for enhancing the quality of related products.
After deliberation by the evaluation panel, it was unanimously decided that this research project meets the requirements for the joint postdoctoral training program and has successfully passed the mid-term assessment.

The postdoctoral research workstation serves as a vital talent pool for scientific research, playing a crucial role in attracting top talent and fostering both external recruitment and internal development. Since its establishment in 2021, Wanbangde Pharmaceutical has continuously strengthened collaboration between the company and universities, as well as research institutions. By adopting a "talent + project" development model, the company has successfully drawn in a cohort of postdocs to conduct cutting-edge research, driving robust partnerships between academia and industry while seamlessly integrating innovation into production. This approach not only accelerates the translation of scientific breakthroughs into tangible business productivity and competitiveness but also reinforces the company’s commitment to advancing collaborative R&D efforts across the broader innovation ecosystem.
The successful completion of the postdoctoral exit and mid-term evaluation meeting, along with the smooth departure of the first jointly-trained postdoctoral fellow, marks a significant milestone in the company’s efforts to attract and nurture high-caliber talent. Moving forward, the company will continue to strengthen its talent development initiatives, serving as both the "energy hub" and "driving force" for technological innovation. This will accelerate the commercialization of research findings, enhance our core competitiveness, and ultimately contribute to the company’s sustained, high-quality growth.
