Explanatory demonstrations, practical action for tangible results

This QC group activity featured a total of 14 participating teams. After the order was determined by drawing lots, each team’s presenter delivered their report using PowerPoint slides, covering topics such as the rationale for selecting the project, current situation analysis, root cause and risk assessment, implementation of countermeasures, effectiveness evaluation, sustainability measures, and overall summary and feedback. Once the presentations concluded, the competition judges provided on-the-spot scoring.

After a vibrant and engaging presentation, four winning teams stood out from the rest.

▲The "QC Laboratory STD Group—Standardized and Precision Management of Reference Standards for Testing" won first prize. The group implemented a refined management system for reference standards, including creating electronic records for inbound and outbound movements, ensuring proper monitoring of safety stock levels and expiration dates. They also established a calibration procedure and optimized the reuse of solutions, resulting in a 50% reduction in reference standard procurement costs.

▲The "Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient Safety & Environmental Protection Department - Wastewater Treatment System Upgrade Project" won the second prize. The team optimized the process through experiments on chemical dosage ratios, optimal pH levels, and reaction times, resulting in a 27.8% increase in the wastewater treatment system's capacity.

▲The "API Technology Department - ***Process Development" team received the Third Prize. Through independent development, the team analyzed, reproduced, and optimized processes such as condensation, reduction, cyclization, crude product handling, and purification, enabling the project to move toward industrialization. As a result, the overall quality and yield improved by 63%, while also significantly reducing production costs.

▲The "QA Department Quality Improvement Team—Optimizing the Change Control Management Process" won third prize. By refining the change process, the team ensured more accurate and comprehensive change assessments, as well as clearer and more transparent tracking of change actions.
