On May 26, 2023, Wanbangde Pharmaceutical Group held the opening and mid-term evaluation meeting for postdoctoral researchers at its headquarters, in the conference room on the 17th floor. The meeting adopted a hybrid "online + offline" format, with participation from Xiang Shengchang, doctoral supervisor from Fujian Normal University; Fu Ying, doctoral supervisor from Northeast Agricultural University; Xu Jing, also a doctoral supervisor from Northeast Agricultural University; Lin Hong, Deputy General Manager of Wanbangde Pharmaceutical Group; Zhang Jianbing, Deputy General Manager; Jiang Dong, Deputy General Manager, along with the three postdocs who joined the program.

PART 01
First, Dr. Wang Jian, the incoming station researcher, delivered his mid-term progress report. Since the project was initiated with a proposal last June, Dr. Wang has already completed the initial small-scale trial phase of his research. The achievement of these interim results has also confirmed the feasibility of the green synthesis process.
PART 02
Dr. Zhang Junqi, the incoming station fellow, delivered the project proposal presentation. Starting with the research background, Dr. Zhang highlighted key aspects such as the main research topics, the proposed research approach, and the detailed timeline for the project.
The expert panel of judges provided corresponding evaluations and discussions on the project's cost estimation, innovative highlights, and process optimization aspects. They noted that Dr. Zhang Junqi’s proposed research topic is clearly conceived, balancing both academic value and economic benefits, with strong potential to optimize and develop a novel synthesis process while addressing critical issues in the existing synthetic route. The new process could not only reduce costs but also deliver significant environmental and commercial advantages.

Dr. Zhu Chifan, a postdoctoral researcher, delivered the project proposal presentation. Starting with the research background, Dr. Zhu elaborated extensively on the key aspects of the study, including the main research topics, the proposed methodology, and the detailed timeline.
The expert panel of judges conducted a thorough evaluation and discussion on the academic value, potential applications, and cost estimates of the research project. They noted that Dr. Zhu Chifan’s proposed research topic demonstrates clear thinking and meticulous planning, holding significant promise for optimizing and developing a novel synthetic process—providing valuable insights and practical references to help reduce costs while boosting production and efficiency.
Finally, after a comprehensive evaluation by the review panel, Dr. Wang Jian’s research project has met the required progress standards and has been approved for the mid-term postdoctoral assessment. Meanwhile, Dr. Zhang Junqi and Dr. Zhu Chifan’s research projects have successfully fulfilled the criteria for the joint postdoctoral training program, and their proposals have been approved for commencement.
