Wanbangde Pharmaceutical Group Launches "Safety Production Month for All Employees" Initiative

Date:

01 Mar,2021

To enhance employees' awareness of safety production, eliminate potential hazards, effectively prevent safety incidents, and ensure the stable operation of the company, Wanbangde Pharmaceutical Group held a "Full-Staff Safety Production Month" event on the afternoon of June 24. The initiative focused on the theme "Prevent Risks, Eliminate Hazards, and Curb Accidents," featuring a comprehensive safety training session and a fire evacuation drill. The training was led by Li Changyuan, a registered safety engineer from Taizhou Wanxin Safety Technology Co., Ltd., and attended by company leaders—including Deputy General Manager Ye Jianguo—as well as all employees from the headquarters.

Before the training began, Deputy General Manager Ye Jianguo delivered a motivational speech, highlighting the current challenging safety landscape in China’s pharmaceutical and chemical industries. He pointed out that the scorching summer heat would pose a significant test for the company’s ongoing safety efforts. Emphasizing the critical importance of safety training and fire drills, he urged all employees to stay focused, study diligently, and ensure they can effectively apply what they learn in their daily work—integrating safety awareness into every aspect of their roles. Additionally, he called on each workshop and department to actively implement and uphold the company-wide safety responsibility system, strengthen job-specific skill training, enhance overall safety preparedness, and solidify the company’s defenses against potential risks.

During the training, Teacher Li Changyuan delivered a clear and insightful presentation, drawing on this year’s Xiangshui explosion accident as a case study. He covered topics such as the understanding and awareness of safety, fundamental principles of safe production, analysis of causes behind safety incidents, key laws and regulations governing workplace safety, essential fire safety knowledge, industry-specific safety prohibitions, and environmental protection guidelines. Focusing particularly on identifying safety hazards, managing fire risks, ensuring electrical safety, handling emergencies effectively, and implementing preventive measures, Teacher Li provided systematic analyses backed by numerous real-world examples—and offered practical solutions to address these challenges. His unique insights proved invaluable, leaving all participants deeply enriched and better equipped to enhance their own safety practices.

To evaluate the effectiveness of the training, the company will organize department-specific safety exams, ensuring that the knowledge gained from safety training is effectively implemented and put into practice.

Following this, all participants gathered at the company’s basketball court to conduct a fire evacuation and escape drill, guided by instructors from the company’s Safety & Environmental Protection Department and the micro-fire station’s fire control operators. Before the drill began, the company’s fire control personnel first provided a detailed briefing on essential fire safety knowledge, including basic fire principles and critical tips for escaping a burning building. They also demonstrated the proper techniques for using portable dry powder fire extinguishers. Under the coordination of the Safety & Environmental Protection Department, employees were divided into groups and took turns practicing how to effectively use the fire extinguishers to put out small, simulated fire sources on-site. This hands-on training helped reinforce their understanding of the correct procedures. Immediately afterward, the full-scale emergency evacuation drill kicked off swiftly. Participants carefully followed key instructions—bending low, keeping a low profile, covering their noses with handkerchiefs, and feeling along the walls—to evacuate the apartment building quickly and safely. Everyone then moved in an orderly manner to the designated safe area on the basketball court. Meanwhile, workshop and department heads promptly conducted headcount checks to ensure that every employee had successfully evacuated the premises.

After the full-scale drill concluded, the company organized a fire emergency simulation exercise to test and enhance the micro-fire station's capabilities in fire prevention and firefighting. At the command of the Safety and Environmental Protection Department Manager, firefighters swiftly assembled, donning their protective gear and equipping themselves with essential tools like fire axes and fire hoses before rushing toward the simulated fire scene. They expertly activated the fire hydrant, connected the hose, and immediately launched a powerful "firefighting" operation using the fire hose nozzle—successfully extinguishing the blaze in record time. This demonstration not only highlighted the firefighters' exceptional safety awareness and expertise but also underscored their ability to improve overall competency and professional skills under pressure.

Through this large-scale drill—marked by both strong momentum and tangible results—the company’s employees have further enhanced their fire safety awareness, significantly strengthening their ability to prevent fires, extinguish them effectively, and respond appropriately in emergency situations. As a result, the company has taken a major step forward in improving its overall safety standards, laying a solid foundation for achieving this year’s safety goals while ensuring the stable operation and sustained healthy growth of the organization.
