On April 13, Han Qide, former Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), paid a visit to Wanbangde Group for an in-depth inspection. Accompanying him were Xiang Ming, Member of the Standing Committee of the Zhejiang Provincial CPPCC, Deputy Chairperson of the Provincial Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy (93 Society), and Vice Dean of Zhejiang University School of Medicine; Zheng Jinping, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairperson of the Zhejiang Provincial Association for Science and Technology; Jiang Changcai, Vice Chairperson of the Zhejiang Provincial Association for Science and Technology; Chen Weiyi, Chairman of the Taizhou Municipal CPPCC; Li Lifeng, Vice Chairman of the Taizhou Municipal CPPCC; Wang Zongming, Mayor of Wenling City; and Zhao Shouming, Chairman of Wanbangde Group, among others.

Han Qide visited the Wanbangde Group’s industrial layout simulation board and product exhibition hall. During the tour, Zhao Shouming briefed Han Qide on how the group has driven comprehensive reforms through innovative institutional mechanisms, focusing on strategic emerging industries such as pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Wanbangde has optimized its industrial structure by deeply cultivating four key business segments in Wenling: pharmaceuticals, aluminum products, medical equipment, and bearings, all while striving to build a robust Greater Health Industry Cluster. The group is also strategically positioning itself for the global market, actively "attracting investment" while proactively "going global." By integrating domestic and international R&D resources, Wanbangde is tackling critical core technologies head-on, with a particular emphasis on developing cutting-edge innovations—including novel drugs, high-end generic medications, advanced medical devices, next-generation materials, and premium bearings. Additionally, the company offers specialized services like maintenance and upkeep for large-scale medical equipment. Currently, Wanbangde boasts significant market shares in China for products such as huperzine A, ginkgo biloba droplets, and various models of aluminum profiles. As Zhao Shouming concluded his presentation, Han Qide nodded thoughtfully and remarked, "Technological innovation is the cornerstone of corporate growth. Only by continuously breaking through barriers in key areas and critical links can enterprises maintain their vitality and stay ahead in an ever-evolving landscape."

In the pharmaceutical industry's product showroom, Han Qide gained an in-depth understanding of innovative drug research and development, as well as the consistency evaluation process for generic drugs. After learning that Shihuajiajia Methane Injection, a treatment for Alzheimer's disease spearheaded by the national-level academician expert workstation under Wanbangde Group, has already received production approval—and that Yinxingye Ditan Wan, a unique national product with independent intellectual property rights—has been included in the 2018 National Key R&D Program’s key project on "Modernization Research of Traditional Chinese Medicine," specifically focusing on quality standard studies for major registered Chinese patent medicines in the EU (Project No.: 2018YFC1707905)—and with several new products soon to hit the market—Han Qide emphasized that Wanbangde Group should seize the emerging opportunities in the pharmaceutical market driven by an aging society. He urged the company to accelerate the industrialization of the Shihuajiajia Methane product while simultaneously expediting the internationalization of its own proprietary intellectual property rights. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of not only prioritizing the development of targeted, innovative drugs but also ramping up investment in high-potential, clinically valuable generic medications. By doing so, Wanbangde can build strong brand advantages, strengthen and expand its biopharmaceutical business, and ultimately establish a solid foothold in China as it reaches out to global markets.

During the inspection, Han Qide also took a detailed look at Wanbande Group’s range of implantable medical device products and the status of its technology transfer for industrialization. Han Qide noted that, through a three-step strategy—overseas acquisitions, domestic integration, and product globalization—Wanbande Group has strategically positioned itself to capture both domestic and international high-end medical device markets, placing it at the forefront of high-quality development.

Before getting into the car, Han Qide specifically emphasized that high-end medical devices, as a nation’s strategic emerging industry, are experiencing robust market demand. However, China currently lags behind in both R&D innovation and the development of core technologies. As we push forward with the localization of medical equipment, it’s crucial not only to transfer and commercialize South Africa’s advanced industrialization technologies but also to attract cross-disciplinary talent with expertise in "bioengineering + biomedical sciences." Additionally, integrating 3D printing technology will enable us to develop and produce cutting-edge products that fill critical domestic gaps, ultimately replacing costly imported high-end solutions—thereby enhancing product quality and contributing to the betterment of human health.
