Wanbangde Pharmaceutical GMP Knowledge Competition Concludes

On April 28, to drive the high-quality development of the group company, boost corporate brand awareness and internal motivation, and comprehensively enhance quality standards, the Quality Assurance Department of Wanbangde Pharmaceutical took the lead in organizing a GMP knowledge competition. A total of eight teams, comprising 24 contestants from the company headquarters and the Shangma API production facility, participated in the event. Lin Hong, Deputy General Manager of Quality, delivered the opening remarks, while other leaders—including Executive Deputy General Manager Chen An, Deputy General Managers Hu Shiqin and Wang Tianfang—attended the event and joined the award ceremony. Representatives from various workshops and departments also watched the competition.

Holding this knowledge competition is an important initiative through which Wanbangde Pharmaceutical actively responds to the nation’s “Quality-Driven Nation” strategy. It also serves as a key step in comprehensively launching quality-improvement efforts and aligning the company with globally advanced standards. The competition focuses primarily on the latest GMP guidelines and the company’s internal GMP management documents, seamlessly integrating job-specific knowledge from roles such as production, quality control, and R&D with employees’ essential skills and competencies. The event features four rounds—mandatory questions, collaborative answers, rapid-response challenges, and risk-based questions—and employs a timed, point-scoring system. The team with the highest cumulative score at the end emerges as the winning team.

After the competition began, all participants remained calm and composed, tackling each question with steady confidence and careful strategy. Following two rounds of warm-up questions, the event kicked into its thrilling buzzer-round phase, where contestants showcased lightning-fast reflexes, swiftly pressing their buzzers to secure priority in answering. Some teams earned multiple bonus points by delivering consecutive correct answers, while others repeatedly lost marks for inadvertently breaking the rules governing the buzzer mechanism. The intense competition reached its peak, igniting the GMP Knowledge Contest into a vibrant and electrifying climax. Meanwhile, the host engaged the live audience with interactive, prize-winning Q&A sessions—encouraging spectators to jump in and test their knowledge. Excited observers eagerly joined in, enthusiastically answering questions, and those who got it right even walked away with delightful little gifts. In the end, after a fierce battle, the winning team—a collaborative alliance from the Production Department, Warehouse, and other departments—claimed the coveted first-place prize.

After the competition, Executive Vice President Chen An provided commentary on every stage of the event. He noted that this contest highlighted the employees' exceptional professionalism and strong business acumen, showcasing the company’s workshops and departments in their spirited, proactive, and determined pursuit of excellence. He encouraged everyone to keep up the good work, using the competition as an opportunity to identify areas for improvement, fostering a culture of learning through competition and ultimately driving comprehensive growth in both technical expertise and job-specific skills. Chen An also emphasized the importance of organizing more knowledge-based competitions like this one in the future, while continuously integrating quality-improvement initiatives throughout the year. By doing so, he stressed, the company can ensure that all employees fully grasp the critical role of quality in their daily operations, thereby elevating the overall brand quality of the organization.

By focusing on enhancing product quality as the key driver, the company has set higher standards for its technical equipment, quality management practices, brand awareness, and production processes. This initiative encourages the entire workforce to engage fully—across all stages and aspects of operations—in efforts to elevate quality, ultimately aiming to achieve a comprehensive upgrade of the company’s industrial capabilities and continuously strengthen its overall competitiveness.
