On the afternoon of July 18, Hao Haiping, Dean of the School of Pharmacy at China Pharmaceutical University and Deputy Director of the State Key Laboratory for Active Constituents of Natural Medicines and Their Pharmacological Effects, along with a delegation of seven members, paid a visit to Wanbangde Pharmaceutical Group for an inspection and guidance session. Professor Hao Haiping and his team were warmly welcomed by Lin Jianmin, Vice Mayor of Wenling City, Tong Qingbo, Director of the Market Supervision Bureau, and Zhao Shouming, Chairman of the company, among others.

Accompanied by Chairman Zhao Shouming, Hao Haiping and his delegation first visited the product showroom and then toured the Ginkgo Leaf Droplet Pill workshop, followed by a symposium during which they gained an in-depth understanding of the company's development progress.

At the symposium, Chairman Zhao Shouming provided a comprehensive overview of the company’s development journey and future growth plans, also offering a brief update on Wanbangde Pharmaceutical’s sales performance for the first half of this year: Compared to the same period last year, the company achieved an impressive 82% increase in sales, marking a strong "flying start." Zhao Shouming emphasized that the company is closely aligning with national initiatives, placing top priority on ensuring product quality and safety. Focused on the overarching theme of advancing the greater health industry, Wanbangde is committed to building a robust platform for developing blockbuster products. With nearly 200 drug production approvals and 18 different dosage forms in its portfolio, the company is carefully selecting and nurturing key products that align with its strategy for scaling up into major-market offerings. While maintaining rigorous standards for quality and efficiency in production, Wanbangde is fully dedicated to accelerating the commercialization of these promising products—and is strategically pursuing secondary development of its existing drug portfolio, exploring innovative applications for established medications. In terms of new drug innovation, the company is currently collaborating with the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences, to develop a series of Huperzine A-based products, which are expected to achieve global market launch in the near future.

During the meeting, Chen An, Deputy Director of the company’s Technology Center, discussed the challenges the company is facing in light of the recently introduced national policy on generic drug consistency evaluation with President Hao Haiping and his delegation. President Hao highlighted that the tight timeline for consistency evaluations and the difficulty in selecting appropriate drug candidates require collaborative efforts from enterprises, academic institutions, research institutes, and society as a whole to overcome these obstacles. Additionally, President Hao provided a clear and concise overview of the School of Pharmacy at China Pharmaceutical University, emphasizing how Wanbangde Pharmaceutical Group can leverage its own strengths while tapping into the university’s abundant talent pool. Together, they engaged in an in-depth discussion about enhancing industry-academia-research collaboration, accelerating the commercialization of scientific breakthroughs, and driving technological innovation within the pharmaceutical sector—ultimately reaching a consensus that will lay a solid foundation for future partnerships between Wanbangde Pharmaceutical Group and the School of Pharmacy at China Pharmaceutical University.
